Cute, Sue!

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of spring here. Very tired of heavy coats, gloves, and yes, I might need boots again tomorrow.

The Vernal Equinox occurred at 9:15 AM PDT today. The exact moment of the Vernal Equinox in the northern hemisphere (the Autumnal Equinox in the southern hemisphere) is when the sun crosses the equator and day and night everywhere are of equal length. The Vernal Equinox is the point on the celestial sphere where the celestial equator intersects the ecliptic, the great circle of the celestial sphere that is the apparent path of the sun among the stars or of the earth as seen from the sun, the plane that defines the earth's orbit extended to meet the celestial sphere.
