I'm imagining you in that hat, a pipe and a whalers sweater tooling around in your MG.

edit added.... I used to think that was really studly....seems to it was Sail tobacco and Canoe cologne.....those were fun days. I think it was my Michael Caine period.

You forgot the tweed jacket with the patches on the sleeves at the elbows.

All right, Pok, you and Josey are gonna get it! And Nick, I see you smiling in the corner there.

Too bad you guys can't wear scarves on your heads.

I'm with the baseball cap group. Paco Belle has no external markings on her to identify her as a Honda. And of course she's new formula red. So what better than to wear a red Ferrari cap while driving her?

There's still a kid at Arby's that insists my car is a Ferrari, despite my telling him it wasn't!

I just have a couple of caps I wear...mostly the red and white flowered one which coordinates well with the interior. Actually, it matches Zippy's interior perfectly! But, as you said, flowers wouldn't look quite right on you...

Would a pair of prescription sunglasses work for you?
Last time I checked, they weren't available in the lightweight high refractive index plastics - which I really want because my prescription is so strong. Maybe it's time to check again in case the technology has improved, though.

Mine's trying to achieve liftoff by 80 m.p.h. Anything over that and the hat usually gets stuffed under the seat.
I totally agree with this. Perhaps it's a head shape thing, but my baseball cap is definitely jiggly above 80. Sometimes, windows up mitigates this, and I do that a bit on the highway if I'm trying to listen to the stereo.

Also, interestingly, I find that the wind buffeting causes enough vibration right above my eyes to create something of a vision problem above 80.

Yup, over 80 and the baseball cap is tucked away. Usually, I put the rear clasp around the e-brake, and tuck the brim in between the left thigh bolster of the passenger seat and the center tunnel.

I hate wearing hats. The only time I wear a hat is if it super-cold outside and I'm in top-down mode.

Acorn fleece beanie style hat. Very warm.

Have you tried contact lenses lately? Huge advances in technology in the past few years.

PM me if you want more info.

Is this a dig @ Zippy?

I like his Wet Okale seat covers...

Baseball caps work best for me, and don't have too much problem keeping them on at high speeds. Got to have sun glasses on too.

BEST HAT

I posted this before. I've tried all sorts of baseball caps, flathats etc. in my 42 years of top down driving. The hat I use now is by far the best I have ever found. I've tested it at over 100 mph in both my S2000 and MGA (which has way more wind swirling around). What is it:

A hat sold by Columbia Sportswear Company. It's baseball cap style but it does not have too long a bill. It's extremely lightweight and has mess sides. Therefore it is very cool, very comfortable, and with a velcro fastener fits nicely. I think the main target market is fishermen. I've only found it in tan or green. I dyed ours black and had S2000 embroidered on it. My wife, who hates hats, loves this one too. I never have to reach up and grab it when trucks are passing. I don't recall it ever blowing off, no matter the conditions.

BEST SUNGLASSES

As for sunglasses. Boy I can't wait for top down this coming spring. I just bought Oakley prescription sunglasses. These are the style that you see the NASCAR drivers wearing that wrap around your face. Can you imagine they can make these in a prescription that is graduated, ie - both distance & up close. I can't remember the last time I could look out the side of my eyes and have perfect vision. These should be a blessing at the race track. They were like $500 but I know they will be well worth it.
