We'll be heading into the Midwest soon. Is anyone in the Oklahoma City area, Des Moines or South Dakota, Colorado, Utah or northern Texas? We'd love to say hello in person if possible.

When are you going? I'll be in Colorado Springs sometime in the next few weeks for work.

Our plan is to depart Phoenix tomorrow (Sunday) and spend the first week getting to Des Moines. We'll pop over to South Dakota and work our way south through Colorado and Utah the second week.

Well, my uncle's uncle perished in Custer's last stand. If you go to the battleground say hello for me!
(I have never made it there.)

I would be happy to that if we stop at the battleground.

Trip update. Five hours ago, I made a judgment error while backing up the motorhome and ended up perched on a big rock. Engine died. Tried a few starts and chocked it up to the new batteries that I installed this morning, before I realized what had happen. We noticed some automotive liquid on the rock and a filter. There went our oil, we presume.

The big semi- flatbed tow arrived an hour later and pretty soon called for back up help. Hours later we are lifted off of the rock. Getting pulled into the flatbed was tricky. Yet as soon as we started up the incline, we started leaking something else. The crew is still cleaning up and it's now 4:00am. I've been awake for 21 hours now, and we're still not at a repair shop yet. We're almost in the middle of nowhere.

I fear that our schedule is messed up a bit

We started months ago with a fixer-upper. Her dad had poured DOT brake fluid into the master cylinder, so we replaced that and flushed the lines. The dash wiring had been torn out and needed a pro to sort out. The levelers had stopped working and so had the automatic first step to the entry door. The tires were 10 years old and when we got around to replacing them, we found cracked rotors. Replaced rotors and pads. The wiper motor had no power. Found a used one to match at an RV salvage yard. Installed it, but got the 5 wires mixed up. It now goes into high mode when the switch is in the off position, after we melted the 25amp fuse. And we can't get a signal from the back up camera. It seems to never end.

Sounds like some Lucas electrics may have found their way into your RV
