Wow, who'd have thought that buying a car would make such a difference? Sometimes I wonder what I did before I owned the S-car. It has enriched my life in ways I cannot even begin to list. You all know that two days after getting my first S, I joined the club. I'd seen the club online, but didn't feel a part of it until I became an OWNER. You guys are responsible for many life-changing events. I just pm'd Lainey and said I never got up in the morning thinking, geez, I should put on my to-do list, must visit Mystic, Ct., eat too much, drink too much, laugh too much, visit wineries, etc. However, now that I've been there and done that, I'm richer for the experience. I cannot list names since I'm sure my blonde head will forget someone of uber importance, so let me just say to every one of you thanks. I'm not sure that I'd be trotting all over the eastern seaboard with a laptop computer to keep in touch with those who cannot make it so I can keep up to the minute on what they're doing and they can keep up with what I'm doing, a digital camera, a gps system so I can find where everybody else has gone (and then find my way back home), speed up and down the super-crowded highways darting in and out of traffic and realizing that OH, WOW, I'M COUNTRYYYYYY, without the meets and without a desire to meet each and every one of you in person. I once toasted a crowd of S2kers and said that you are my best friends. Apparently you are. I have no other friends that I feel the need to chat with as much (at least 4.whatever times a day - my ppd). We've found a place in each other's lives and for whatever reason, we keep coming back. My family does not understand my connection with you folks, my friends (the numbers of whom are dwindling exponentially) do not understand, and sometimes I do not understand, yet, here I am. Thanks to all of you. You've made coping with the stresses of life so much easier, you've given me a reason to look forward to the days and you've made the ownership of a wonderful little car all the more rich. My heart goes out to you all. May you all forever live out your dreams and live each day to the fullest.

Beautifully said, Val.

I had no idea that with the 30K we spent on a fun car, we would also gain so many new friends, travel by car to new places, and have the time of our lives.

Rick found the website shortly after we bought the car. We toyed with joining, as neither of us had ever been much of a "joiner" before. I only recently discovered that I CAN be a social butterfly. Who knew?

We have enjoyed every moment of every meet, every dinner, every drive.

It's been a he$$ of a ride.

Awwww...thanks, Val. That is so sweet. And I certainly agree. I'm not sure what I did before I bought my S, either!

Well, for one thing before the S I did not drive hundreds of miles each way to go for a drive!

I'm not sure I can add to that .

Except maybe for this...when I found the NSX, my dream car since '91, and was able to swing the deal, my biggest concern wasn't paying for the damn thing. It was losing contact with this community. Luckily, the car you show up in is only a small part of the big picture, and you keep me around .

Thank you all...I'm not going anywhere .

MsP, you've been an invaluable part of the community, my friend, my confidante and a wonderful organizer. Our Spring Fling whether I can always make it or not, wouldn't be what it is without your guidance and I'm sure loads of time. From the beginning you've been someone who's been a leader in bringing the Vintage group into fruition and I'm sure it wouldn't be where it is without you, Rob, Jerry and the others who fought to win this forum its place in the community. to you. I miss Gene and several others who worked hard wayyyyy back in the early days and though I came into the picture several months after Vintage got its own little space on the board, I have deep respect for those of you who organized and developed our forum. Vintage has become one of the few clubs with regular large meets and I'm sure all of us who enjoy participation in those meets appreciate the work involved.

The people are what makes Vintage the best forum on this site by a mile...and Val is one of the best people to be around.

If your not laughing your head off in fun with this lady, your missing out!

In the short 3 months that I have owned my S, I've not yet been able to make it to a single in-person Vintage meet, yet I feel I know a good bit about many of my fellow vintage members - you all leave it out here on display on these pages, every day.

I never realized, either, that I was buying a lifestyle, not just a car, but looking at the pics from prior gatherings, it is clear that this is a place full of like-minded, kindred spirits, and I am glad I've found you all.

I understand that I don't quite fit in, yet, because you all have not met me, but I do intend to remedy that in time.

At the risk of sound patronizing. If being around Valentine and other Vintage folks does not put a smile on one's face, one falls into one of three categories IMO.

1. You are dead.
2. You do not like people.
3. You do NOT know how to have a good time, and enjoy life.

Don't take my word for it. Ask a pre-vint that hung with us last weekend when us Vintage folks where the last one's out of the bar at closing.

Why do you think that Ruined 2 is laughing so hard?
