Glad you two are having a great time Some of the most gorgeous and dramatic scenery in the country is in the Southwest. It sounds like you'll have some great stories to relate at SF.

Thanks all!

We had such a good week, my sweet and I.

We stopped in Jerome for a drink at the Asylum, also had lunch at the Haunted Hamburger. What a strange place to build a town. We took in the historic buildings in Prescott and stopped for a drink on Whiskey Row at the Palace Saloon. We drove on the old Route 66 and got a few laughs with the owner at a long established ice cream place. Kind of sad to see what happens to surrounding towns when the Interstate comes in. Not much left there.

All in all, a great trip. Those roads would be great in a "S" for sure. Hairpin turns, switchbacks, mountains, the whole bit.

We had a long day of travel getting home today. Did not start out too well, as I was not feeling good. Not sure if it was the ONE drink I had with dinner last night or some bad food. Made for a tough day, but we are home safe and sound.

Traveling is tiring, and not the fun part of a vacation. I to Patty for making the trips to attend the meets.

Hope to post pics tomorrow.

Yeah, poor me. I have to fly all the way across the country and change planes just to hang with you crazy Vintage people. It's worth it, though, for sure. See ya in 6 weeks Lainey.

Glad you had a good time, hope you feel better quick. I'd like your opinion of the Grand Canyon. I loved Arizona and New Mexico but I found the Grand Canyon to be a big hole in the ground and in some ways disappointing. I think like the Everglades, it's a definition of scope.

I had exactly the same reaction to the Grand Canyon years ago when I first saw it. I couldn't understand what the big deal was, I thought it was just a big hole in the ground too.

Two or three summers ago we went to Las Vegas and took a bus tour to the Grand Canyon including a helicopter ride into the canyon and a cruise. I got a whole different perspective.

From the top looking down it is less impressive than when you actually go down into it.

Lainey, did you find that to be so?

I did, Rob.

I was glad we saw it from the helicopter first. It was so much better taking in the whole view than from one of the "lookout" areas. Not that those views are bad. It was just way more impressive from the helicopter.
