Hello Everyone !
I've been a member since 2005 but never posted in the Vintage section. So, I say it's about time. Hello and a bit about me. . ..
Approaching the big 7 -0 but feel like 45 (most of the time!).
I'm a retired photographer, freelance for many yrs then 15 yrs as a medical photographer here in NJ. A fun gig it was to finish the working years.
Had a NFR '05 bought new then traded in for a new LBP '08. Absolutely love it !
I love music from the doo-wop era and the Beatles. I don't understand any music from today. That proves I'm an oldie !
I always appreciate reading posts from this forum. I feel as if we met today we would be immediate friends.
As I'm typing this I've been listening to a great radio station on line for Beatle fans. Here's the link Beatles Music From of all places, Cracow, Poland !!! And commercial free.
Happy New Year !

Welcome, Russ! You should consider attending our Spring Fling in Glen Falls, NY, in late May.You'll find quite a few of us in your age category there, and it'll give you a chance to go on some great drives, plus enjoy some late evening socializing. Also, we just had a mid-winter gathering at a member's house in West Deptford, NJ, which, according to Google, is a short hour and a quarter drive for you. See you there next year, I hope.
Post up here some more and you'll find that you have a lot in common with us!

Russ,
with the others that you should fit right in and feel at home with the Vintage group, and would highly encourage you to attend this year's Spring Fling event. As a person that has attended every Spring Fling since the inception in 2004, I am confident that you will fit in with this fun loving, widely diverse group of people. Unless of course for some reason you do not like to have fun, and have a generally good time. Over the years this Vintage group has set a few records. Here are a few:
BTW, I have spent collectively months of my life in Poland and have been to Krackow after the NATO expansion. If you like Doo Wop I suggest that you check out WLNG.COM from 21:00 to 23:00 on Tuesday nights for the Doo Wop Stop. Or any other time of the week for that matter. This station has been on the air since August of 1963 and boast a library of over 10,000 oldies.
P.S. I often listen too this station so that I know what is happening on Eastern Long Island, when I visit with my Mother, as she likes to get out and listen to music when I am there.
P.P.S. Spring Fling 2015: Be there, or be square.

- SF 2005 at Berkerley Springs, WV, We keep the bar opened latter than it has ever been open in the history of the Spa at Berkerley Springs. Until they threw us out do to our singing disturbing the guest trying to sleep.
- SF2006 We got to do "Parade Laps" around the Watkins Glen Circuit at triple digits.

- SF 2007 We got to see an incredible sun rise over the Blue Ridge Mountains in VA.

Russ and welcome! Do try to make a Vintage event if you can - Spring Fling is indeed not far from you this year. My +1 is from Little Ferry, NJ. Of course, he left as soon as he could.
Rob (ralper) is a huge doo-wop guy and also lives in NJ. He, Jerry (paS2K) and I are the founders of this here forum and it's been around for almost 12 years. Always glad to see new members.

Welcome Russ! Unlike some of the others I am not from New Jersey nor do I have family there but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once so I know a lot about New Jersey!
If you can make Spring Fling I am sure that you will have a ball.

What he said.We have driven through NJ a few times. We are from MA. Hope you can make Spring Fling. It is always a fun gathering.
A few of us, myself included, like to play around with
. I like nature, the outdoors best, don't think I'd be too good at medical photography, but tell us about it some time.Pop on over to the Odds and Ends photo thread when you have the time. Many of us post pics there of what we are up to. Some pics fall into the "snapshot" category, others we work a little harder at. I'm always open to some comments/helpful hints on the pics I post.
Please share a link to some of your work.
