"her" tools
That's how i got started. My Dad gave me a tool box and a few hand tools for Christmas when I was 12. Every year for birthday and Christmas he added to it. I was pretty well equipped when I left the house.
As the old saying goes: "Any job is easier if one has the right tools".
Last week I had to swap out our back up sump (bilge) pump and the easiest way to do that in the future was to cut through the 1 1/2" PVC and then put in a union to make it a quick disconnect. I had been avoiding this as I was planning to saw through it and did not want the shavings dropping into the sump. Fortunately as I went out to get our mail I stopped to watch the workman running a gas line in front of our house to our new neighbor's house. He pulled THIS out to cut through the line. I asked him if I could borrow it for a few minutes and it worked like a champ. It took all of about thirty seconds and with out any debris.
