Default How good are you at FreeCell

Here's a useless thread if ever there was one...

I often play a game or two of FreeCell on my PC while eating lunch or during really boring conference calls . According to one source I once ran across, it is possible to beat every game that FreeCell deals out except one.

For a couple of years I have been trying to get to 100 wins with no losses. Well, I got close...

On Game 100 the pressure got to me and I followed an unsuccessful strategy without thinking it through properly first.

This must be how it feels to bowl a 299 or pitch a perfect game for 8 2/3 innings.

Time to start all over again.

What's your record for consecutive wins without a loss?

Haven't played in a long time...I'll give it a try soon. I guarantee I won't be very good at it.

As high as I care for it to be. Of course, that's when I play it using a version that has unlimited recursion in "undos".

^^^It comes with your PC. Click on Start - Games and you should find it. It's another version of the classic solitaire. I really suck at it!

Me too. I finally decided I was better off reading a book if I became so bored I was considering free cell. I'm just no good at it.

I tried it last night, and yes, I'm still lousy at it. I do OK with solitaire from time to time.

If I recall correctly there was also a version of mahjong with Windows 95 or 98? Windows NT had a cool pinball gaime.

No fair using anything but the official Microsoft version of FreeCell, Mike. Only one undo and only if you have not yet clicked on any card since your last move.

I remember the original version of FreeCell did not have any undo at all. Does anyone else remember that or am I mistaken?

When I play FreeCell, I don't think hard enough to try to win every game.
