Default How much do you get?

On average how many hours do you sleep at night? When I had my business I slept about 71/2 hours on average. Now as have gotten older I get 8-9 hours every night. How about you - do you find that you need more as you grow older?

I have always needed 8 hours of sleep a night and never get it when I have to get up early (6 am) for my volunteer job. I'm a night owl and rarely hit the sack before midnight. When I can sleep in, I'll get up around 9am and will get my 8 or more hours of sleep.

6 1/2 hours...that's all I need, too. If possible a 10-15 minute power nap during the day is in order, and maybe that's the reason. The wife needs 8-9 hours.

8 hours is good for me, with a pit stop @ halfway point Rarely having to set an alarm is one of the joys of retirement for me.

I am also a night owl like Patty, except that I do try to sack out earlier on Friday nights when I usually have a 7 am meeting at our church

Normally 8 hours. 11-7 is the norm. More if I do a long bike ride or detail a car. Extra hour usually.

I do best on 8 hours. Most often it I get 7 1/2 or so. I seem to get/need more sleep during the early darkness of winter evenings, and have almost no issue falling asleep during this time of year either.

I wish I was one who could function on less sleep, but that does not work for me at all!

Usually go to bed around 10, up at 5.....that may seem early to some but when I was working I got up at 3. Now that I'm retired it seems good to sleep in.

In bed by 2230, up by 0630. Do not want to waste time in bed too many things to do
