At first I thought it was silly but then after some reflection, I'm even considering getting one.

That's a steal, caskets are absurdly expensive, a good reason for cremation.

I've been involved in the purchase of two wooden caskets in the last year; both were circa $3500.

I want my ashes scattered over Keuka Lake. I don't really care where my ashes are after I'm gone...I just want to get people I care about to all meet up at Keuka Lake for a nice afternoon.

Hmm. A new vacuum cleaner ... or a casket.

Well, this year I avoided that tough choice by getting her an absurdly expensive afternoon at a fancy day spa. Ka-ching!

That's my plans as well, just a different lake - one our family has vacationed on for nearly our entire marriage.

PS - Isn't Keuka lake part off the finger lakes? That's a long way from MS. Or, is your's a different lake with the same name?
