I'm Behind...
I'm pretty anal about getting stuff done. Ok, call me a little obsessive/compulsive. I'm a list guy. I like order and structure. Continuity. Predictability. However, my list of to-do's is getting shamefully long even for the procrastination crowd.
1. Two divorce recovery books to read
2. Two divorce recovery tapes to listen to
3. One Dave Barry book to read
4. Appt. for Bimmer
5. Appt. for S
6. Appt. w/foot doctor
7. Appt. w/dermatologist (wouldn't YOU like to know!)
8. Estate plan and will's still have the ex all over them and I need to meet with my attorney to undo that.
9. Create a new personal budget
10. Put pre-emergent fertilizer and get it on the grass NOW
11. Buy a new pool table to replace the one you-know-who took
12. Fill out the Annulment paperwork
13. Sell the cartop carrier (anyone interested? Top of the line model...used twice)
14. Figure out why the "F" I can't get my garage door remote re-programmed into the button in the Bimmer
15. Get and install a few new hinges on the kitchen cabinets
16. Clean the crud out of the fridge
17. Clean out the desk
18. Go to Home Depot and pick out the rest of the crap for the condo remodel
19. Post the Ohio S2000 Schedule of Events for 2004
20. Keep my teenagers happy
21. Wash and detail the S.
Only the tip of the proverbial block of ice. Hmmm...just re-read the list. Someone needs to get a life.
So, are you a list person? Are you ahead or behind?

Carmen,
Put everything else on the back burner. Lovingly wash and detail that beautiful yellow work of art, and then take it for a spirited drive. When you get back you will be refreshed and everything else will fall into place.

Consummate list person
I make a to-do list every morning at work - keeps me focused.
I have a major home project list on the refrigerator - only 6 or 7 more weekends of outsideable weather here in Scottsdale and about 5 outside projects to do.
I have been a list maker for 20 years - part of learning to cope with ADD at a young age. If I lose my list, I'm lost

Yep -- I'm the consummate listmaker and rely on my palm pilot and computer calendar (if I can remember to hot synch -- have to put that on a list) to do what I need to do everyday. I call mine "adult-onset" ADD. (just hoping its not early-onset alzheimer's)

I use lists alot, too, but mostly just to remind myself of weekend stuff. At the office I jot down things for the day on my daytimer. For some reason, even though I'm an IT specialist, I don't use the computer for my lists. Prefer to write them down on paper.
I would put H, M, or L next to each thing, taking into account which need to be done asap and how important each is to you. Then check them off as you do them. Pretty simple really. The hard part is organizing your time. Have you ever taken a time management class? Might be worth doing.
