Default Interesting Perspective...

A car company can move its factories to Mexico and claim it's a free market.

A toy company can outsource to a Chinese subcontractor and claim it's a free market.

A major bank can incorporate in Bermuda to avoid taxes and claim it's a free market.

We can buy HP Printers made in Mexico. We can buy shirts made in Bangladesh.

We can purchase almost anything we want from many different countries.

BUT, heaven help the elderly who dare to buy their prescription drugs from a Canadian (or Mexican pharmacy..That's called un-American.

And you think the pharmaceutical companies don't have a powerful lobby? Think again!

Wal-mart comes to town and puts all of the small merchants on main street out of business leaving a ghost town where the business district used to be and the politicians and business people say, "Thats progress don't try to stop it."

Wal-mart leaves town, leaving behind an empty Main Street, a depressed business district, a bankrupted municipality and the politicians and business people say, "That's business what can we do?"

Excellent!

Let's not forget outsourcing our own jobs offshore.

Sears did the same thing in the 50's. Then it was the indoor malls of the 70's and 80's. Walmart is packed. 7% of ever retail dollar spent in America is spent at Walmart They are the big bully of the block. One Day someone bigger and better than Walmart will come around. I hate Walmart as much as everyone else. But hey sometimes I still shop there. I hate to say it but in a capitalist country "Thats Progress don't try to stop it." It all seems to smooth out over time. The last time I looked the Main streets here in Jersey are doing Just fine with specialty shops and little vacancy. But I know in Rural America it is a different story. While Driving through PA. A few years ago in very rural spots the main streets where dead with lots and lots of Vacancy. Replaced by Strip Malls which included Walmart a few miles outside of town.

All good points...
I never go in Wally World. Too crowded.

Another interesting perspective:

It is time to take a serious look at our involvement there. Every day there are news reports about more deaths. Every night on the TV are photos of death and destruction. Why are we still there?

The land is too large to secure all of it. The bad people causing this damage can roam anywhere, and we can't possibly police the whole place. Why are we still there?

We occupy this land, which we had to take by force, but it causes us nothing but trouble. Why are we still there?

Their government is unstable, and in the process of changing. Why are we still there?

Refugees are fleeing by the thousands, driven from their homes. Why are we still there?

It will cost billions to rebuild, which we can't afford. Why are we still there?

We can't even secure the borders. Why are we still there?

And to repeat. Every day we hear of more Americans killed in this dangerous land.

It is clear!

I disagree with the Wal-Mart comment. My in-laws live in Littleton NH (about 60 miles south of the Canadian border). They were all worried that when the Wal-Mart opened it would close the shops down town. Well low and behold the crappy service that these little shops gave is now on a par with Wally World and as a matter of fact it now draws more people to town so that business in expanding. The town now has more sales tax revenue than ever.
The economy in the US is based on competition. The stores that provide the service will survive against a Wally World, Target, Kohles, etc. There is room for all
