Interstate 280
I get what your saying Rob but I hate sitting in traffic in the S.
Maybe it's the manual and clutching,
but I think it more of sitting on a stallion but locked in the corral.
It's chomping at the bit and so am I.
I never have been real good with lines or waiting.

Speaking of convertibles, I was leaving a resturant last night. A lady pulled up in a white 1993 Mercedes-Benz 500SL with the top down. I watched the car go through it's dance as she put it up. First the built in roll bar came down automatically, then the body opened up and the top came up, then the back side of the top came down and anchored itself, then the roll bar came back up inside the cloth top. What engineering!
We also live near Interstate 280.
The stretch that goes through San Jose (it changes to Interstate 680 as it crosses US-101) is always congested with bumper-to-bumper traffic also. However, further west, as I-280 goes up the peninsula to San Francisco, it is a very scenic drive, with much less traffic. When we have to go to San Francisco ("The City"), I prefer to drive I-280 instead of US-101.

Rob, I have never doubted that your S is your second love. It's easy to see why. Not that I like traffic jams at all, but if I had the S back then, I might have suffered all those years of commuting into DC with more content.
