Isaac
We have a band working its way over Gulfport now and it is raining buckets.
I just found this picture in the WLOX public gallery. This is the entrance to McDonalds in Long Beach. That's US-90 which is normally 50-80 yards from the water depending on the tide. Looks like the drive-through might be a "float-through" by lunch.

Still raining as one of the largest feeder bands currently swirling around the center of Isaac drags its way across Gulfport. This is like being in a squal line for six hours. This particular feeder band should clear us in a few more hours.
Word is the hurricane team will be released tomorrow morning. Of course this assumes that our replacements can make it to work and that we can make it home. At the moment there is no path from here to my house, normally about 10 minutes away, that doesn't involve a section of highway or street that is closed.
We'll see.

Today they took out 3 palm trees and several 60' tall bamboo stalks that had broken off out of my yard. The ground here is still saturated.
For being a tropical storm that was 100 miles offshore from me, it sure made life soggy. It looks like it's sitting on La.
I never can understand why people don't prepare. We have a lot of new people around here going, "It was just a tropical storm, I didn't do a thing."
Hope everyone up there is safe and dry.

Was able to go home Wednesday night. House was without power.
After replacing a spark plug and using some starting fluid, I was able to finally get the generator working (It worked fine when tested last weekend.) After I let it run for a few minutes I ran a heavy duty cord into the bedroom window. I went inside to hook up Sandy's computer and the lights came on! Naturally.
All pretty much back to normal here on the coast except for some vegitation debris and some river flooding. Lots of sand and some ponding on US 90 still so travel there is best left to the SUVs.
Thanks again for the good thoughts.
