We often see a lull around here in the good weather, and around the holidays. It's been really quiet lately. Is everyone enjoying the summer? The time seems to fly by.

What have you all been up to?

My wife and the munchkin are flying to Lake Tahoe today to visit her sister, so it'll be quiet around here for a week

Apart from that we've just been out a lot, spending evenings with Ciara at the neighborhood pool, doing the usual yardwork etc.

I haven't even been spending much time on s2ki at work, as things have been busy.

Dave.

We're huddling around our air conditioner this time of year.

The fun season here doesn't start until the Fall.

I can't say that I'm really enjoying it. I'm bored, restless, and aggravated. I don't have much to do or anything going on right now to occupy myself. My prep for the Fall semester is done, Martha doesn't want me to work on the library panel ceiling or much of anything else until this Fall, and I don't have any new toys.
I'm just killing time for the next three weeks until we head to CT then the kids will be here a few days after we return. I'm sure that I'll forget all about my summer doldrums then.

Said good-bye to the S yesterday as my son headed south to Miami. He called when he got there, said it rained all the way home and the car handled great. Waaahhh!!!

Going shopping this weekend, hope we can find something. Right now the dealer stocks seem to be low.

I realized after posting, that some Florida folks may not look forward to the summer as much as we do here in MA

For us, it seems like we have two good months to enjoy the summer; July and August, and they fly by. When I was a kid, summer seemed to last forever. Now, once July 4th hits, summer seems like it's on "fast forward." On the plus side, September is really a nice month around here and we have scheduled a week to goof off.

As for now, we are hosting a cookout/drive next Saturday for our New England friends and are looking forward to that. We are, of course, also looking forward to the Nor'Easter as well. In between we must work, we have to take care of the yard and then there are other responsibilities that grown ups have. We do find time to enjoy the "S", but this year we have not had as much time as in the two previous summers.

I think I want to be bored like Dean, just for a little while.

Leaving for Fla today, we will lay on the beach for 10 days or so.

^ I'd love to hit the beach, but won't happen this summer. The +1's kids are coming to visit for a few days next week. Then it's Gordon Lightfoot at Wolftrap, the Nor'Easter, and Reggae Festival at Wolftrap. That takes care of the rest of July and August. Work somewhere in there, too.

I've been entertaining myself with my flowers and yard work for the past couple/months. Trimmed tons of bushes, helped +1 take down a couple/small trees, and otherwise spend most of my days mowing, edging, working in the flower beds and just general yard stuff. I enjoy being outside all day, but it does get awfully humid here this time of year. Next weekend is the Rt. 26 run in Ohio, so I'm looking forward to that. August brings the Nor'Easter and then in September I'm going to NC to a cousin's wedding and October is the Gettysburg meet, so I'm set.
