Default Jacksonville S2000's

We have only been in FL three days and I have already spotted five S2000's - two yellow, two silver, and a black. That's more than I see in MI in a summer. It's great to see all the sports cars everywhere. Lots of Porsches! Honda is clearly the car of choice around here; every third car I see is a Honda. If you live in the area and see a nut case in a Pontiac Vibe waving wildly - it's me. Boy do I wish I had my S2000 here. Well, I am off to play tourist.

Have fun playing tourist. You should have sprung for the Chrylser Sebring, or the Mustang convertible at the rental office.

We'll be touring AZ in a Sebring soon.

Hope you get some nice warm sunny weather. It's got to be warmer than MI??!!

Dave,

We had a similar experience when we were in Phoenix two weeks ago. I can go a month at home without seeing another S, but we kept seeing them in Phoenix. We saw two when we were on the Arizona drive and they weren't part of the group.

I rarely see them where I live, which is very slightly upstate NY, but there is one I see from time to time. It's silverstone like mine, but unfortunately has a huge wing and spinners. It's like a bad dream.

We spent a February long weekend in Jacksonville area in 04.....did not see a single S2000 We were in Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, etc.....but DID see a BMW Z-8 (the $130k model) on the ferry to Amelia Island

Don't miss St Augustine and some of the beach towns south of there.....very enjoyable restaurants right on the beach

Jerry, we spent yesterday in St Augustine. Some neat Spanish buildings at the college; I'm sure you didn't miss those. Stopped at the FL Cracker bar for a beer and to see where the term came from. Found a British pub on on the other side of bridge but no MGs. The best part (for me) was looking at the art in some of fine art stores. Some excellent painters - another thing I don't see enough of in MI.

Lainey, the Vibe belongs to my daughter; they also have VW and a Triumph bike but the Vibe is the better people hauler. I was driving it yestereday and found out it has the turning radius of an 18 wheeler. Almost got us in an accident because of that discovery.

Jerry we spent a week at Amelia Island last year - right on the beach. That was nice.

Did the Museum of Science today. OK but not great. Going to the Museum of Art later.

Dave, that is exactly how i feel when visiting the kids down there. This is a perfect time of year down there for our cars! and we can't enjoy it. The last time we were there my 4 year old grandson was asking when could he go for a ride again. He said "in the fast car" .
