Default Java issue?

OK, I'm hearing that I should disable Java. I remember bolton blue mentioning an issue along the way.

What is the deal? I heard all versions of Java for the last several years are problematic. If I disable, certain things won't work on the computer, correct? I use Firefox to browse.

Keep in mind I know nothing about the real purpose of Java, so please use English not tech if you post a reply.

Thanks!

Lainey, I thought you were going to ask about coffee.
Can't help you, but interested in the responses.

My take: Don't worry unless you visit and/or click on some unknown/strange links.

Follow the instructions to disable Java in Firefox and you're golden.

How does one find Java on your computer to disable it?

I took a quick look and didn't realize there was a difference between Java and Java script. I checked it out and it looks as if Firefox had already disabled the Add on.

Thanks!
