Last chance for a Viper
I toured their plant years back with an S2k group and it was very impressive.

[/quote]I agree, I detailed and drove several. Not my favorite but to each his own.
I am happy that I had a chance to drive one of the 450HP / 450 FT #'s at the Skip Barber School back in 2001. IMHO I believe that it appeals to the same "point and shoot" mentality as the Z-06 buyer. Go fast in a straight line and tip toe around the corners. I could be wrong, but have you ever seen one being driven on a twisty road (besides a race track) by John Q Public?
With that stated: It would be a cool car to have in one's collection, along with a Ford GT, etc. If one could afford to have such a collection. BTW, After watching a recent episode of of Jay Leno's garage I am still kicking myself that I did not buy a Ford GT years ago against the advice of our financial advisor.

I don't agree with it. Every Z06 driver that I know likes to drive his or her car hard, including on mountain roads. I talk to Stingray and Z06 drivers every day on the Corvette Forum. A lot of them take their cars to the track on a regular basis.

I have to believe that a lot of Z-06 and Porsche drivers in the LA area don't buy them to "really" drive them, they but them for status and ego. I am fairly certain that you will agree to that statement.
