This past weekend HBO had on a special entitled Thank you Mr President which was about Helen Thomas of the White House press corp.

In the episode, they had a film clip of Helen Thomas singing a parody called 'Gerry from Queens.'

So here is the question, what was the original opera and piece that the music came from?

it driving me nuts ( ok maybe that's just a putt not a drive)

 

Is the HBO clip available on You Tube, etc? If so I'll send it to my daughter who is a mezzo.

 

I tried searching last night and couldn't find one. Virginija (soprano) would probably know once we see it.

Jerry, Im happy you found it. Its frustrating when you know something and want more info but cannot find it. I did search around for an hour for you found some info on the movie but not the song or opera.
