Default To lower or not?

Why would I lower my "S"? I just bought used 18" OS Superleggras which came with 225/265's. The tires have bit of life left which I will try out. The previous owner said he experienced some rubbage on his AP1 which was lowered.

Hey, I turn 60 this year! Where has time gone? I drive my "S" on nice days and take the occasional road trip or wine tour. There is still hope for me though. Just the other day, my wife told me to grow up!

Hey - you need a Vintage badge! Can't help you with the lowering, since mine isn't lowered.

Each to his own, but no, i wouldnt lower mine.

Edit... With the 18s you may need to lower it for it to look right. Swift makes some
springs that lower the car about an inch.

I would vote for lowering ONLY if the car was going to get a lot of track use.

This thing is so low that I can't even use my current floor jack to take out the spring spacers this weekend. I end up using the jack from the trunk. One of a few expenses that I have not think about when buying this car is getting a new floor jack.

There are lowering springs and coilovers out there that lower the car without sacrificing ride comfort. These usually lower the vehicle from 3/4' to 1" and range from fairly inexpensive to expensive. I would recommend using the search function to research the pro's and con's of lowering.

If you do not lower your S, those 18" wheels/tires will fit assuming the offset is correct.
The wheels and tire forum has a section that can best answer your concerns regarding fitting wheels and tires.
