Martha you probably have a newer operating system than I do, although for Right Click not to pop up a menu is very odd!
Sorry to be confusing -- it did give me a menu, just not one that included New Mailbox! But it's ok now. Thanks!

Unfortunately the closest Apple Store to us is about 50 miles.

Biggest problem I had after switching from a PC was trying to do things the PC Way... once I went with right click, dragging things where I wanted, etc I really started to like the Mac.
That explains why you never got the PC thing. Ive right clicked since day one always been ahead of the curve...oh BTW

Macs are computers I always thought they were the last name of the popular sandwich

I guess that's because Florida is citrus country. All our local stores here in Washington carry apples. Honeycrisps are the best. http://www.honeycrisp.org/about.htm

I used a PC for 15 years; since 1992, Dave. I got "it" quite well, thank you. I also learned w/o a mouse for the first month I owned a computer. Having the ability to mouse is handy but I still prefer keyboard shortcuts when possible.

Bah. Two-button and one-button mice both always seemed silly to me, having learned computing on X-windows. Left button selects, middle button pastes, right button calls the menu....

Someone over in the Computer forum recommended Mac when the +1 buys a laptop (desktop is getting old and want something smaller). We still need to investigate. I have a three-year old Sony Vaio that works for me, but it looks like Vista is coming and many are not happy with it. Anyone have experience with Vista??

Deb a few people I know have Vista and have adjusted, then I know some give it a

When I recently ordered my new PC, (Dell) I had the option of Vista or XP and I stuck with XP. I also do some business with a local computer store and the owner told me he could hardly give Vista away.

Again, different strokes for different folks.

Mostly, Vista depends on you having a fast enough PC. If XP was a bit sluggish, don't even think it.

I upgraded the RAM in both our PCs to 2GB, and the video cards, and I like Vista overall - lots of tiny tweaks that can really make a difference in the useability.

I run Vista Ultimate on my notebook, and Home Premium on my main PC and Virginija's PC. (MS had a family deal where you could get 2 Home Premium's for $50 each if you bought Ultimate - a good deal).

^^^^ Yeah, Vista takes alot of horsepower to run. It was designed
for the dual core computers. I have it on both my laptops, no problems
with it.
