Default Maybe this time is the charm

After fall starts and having cars sold out from under me i think it is going to happen this time.
I have a deposit on an 2013 SL63. which is almost identical to this one on BAT right now.
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...z-sl63-amg-12/ ironically this one is 50 miles from my house.... hmmm.
But the one i have on deposit has only 21k on it.
and mine has nicer wheels.

It's got the same M157 5.5L biturbo as the S63 coupe and my ML63 buuut it has the RennTech tune.
That's good for 669 HP @ 5,500rpm; 734 LB-FT @ 3,700rpm
I'm thinking about investing in tire futures.

best part is I can turn it on and off with a switch to reprogram the ECU.
Normally I wouldn't do something like the Renntech. as an engineer I understand where reliability vs performance lines are.
An aftermarket tuner doesn't have that same data.

I'll have to watch the weather to coordinate getting it home. drive to storage vs truck to storage. it's on that threshold.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever driven an AMG SLS? Some doctor at work has one (I'm sure he's a surgeon). He parks the Benz next to a nice Porsche GT-2. Gotta get a photo one day.
