Well, the Maytag repairman will soon be quite busy. Many Maytag and Jenn-air dishwashers are being recalled due to a fire hazard. I was unaware of this until I went to the website today after reading about a housefire in my hometown because of a faulty dishwasher. My dishwasher is subject to the recall. My GE dishwasher was recalled for the same reason. I need to get going and get a replacement dishwasher.

Edit: Boy are you guys getting hosed. GE is giving us the choice of a free repair, $150 or $300 toward a new GE dishwasher (amount is depending on new model purchased).

We have the same joke, Emil. My father used to say "why should I buy a dishwasher when I already have 4 of them?" -- meaning us children, of course.

I did too, but he's too busy at the office to help out much here at home. That's why I bought a Maytag.
