Default Member Profile threads

To follow up on my thread about making new members feel welcome, Lainey and I have decided to start a welcome thread for each new member. This will help all of us get to know the new member and encourage the new member to start posting. This will be offered to all new members. They need not accept if they would rather not have a welcome thread. The stickie new member welcome thread will continue as always.

From time to time, Lainey and I will also start threads about some of our regular members. This will be a way for new members to learn something about the founding members and regulars.

The object of all of this is to help grow the community. Having 400+ members is only as good as the level of participation from those members. Lainey and I would like to see that increase.

As I said in Tony's thread, an excellent idea! This is why new blood at the top is a good thing.

I thought profiling was against the law.

Just so long as they don't pick on me!

Profiling you would be impossible. You wouldn't fit in any category.

I think the Member Profile thread idea is working out well. I think we should do one a week at the begining. If Lainey or I ask you for some background info, I hope you will participate. You need not write the type of material Rob provided. If you just want to give us info, we'll write it up for you. But feel free to do what Rob did. It saves your COs a lot of time!
