Default Navi system

I am thinking of buying a navigation system to use in my S and my other cars. I am undecided between the Garmin Streetpilot2620 and the Megellin. Does anyone have any experience with these? Any recommendations? How do you like using them?

Rob, ChrisfromRI has the street pilot and he loves it. Send him a pm. He'll be glad to share his experience with it.

Bass has a palm system with a blue tooth wireless connection. The advantage to the system is that it is also a PDA. I'm sure he would be happy to tell you about it.

I was about to get one, but I didn't like the limitations of the PDA systems, or the cost of the stand alone systems like street pilot. Maybe in a year or two when the price comes down....

Rob, I have a Meridian Megallan - I don't recommend it, I should have gone with the StreetPilot but could not find it when I needed it one on short notice.

The Magellan will do the job, but it is not user friendly imo.

My Mom has a SPIII in her car and I have used it extensively. I also have a handheld Garmin hiking GPS. I have used marine GPS by Garmin ,and other "marine" systems.

The Garmins are by far the most user friendly. They are very easy to use, buttons are back-lit and laid out logically.

The one major drawback of the SPIII has been corrected in the model you are looking at. Limited memory/slow access times. Garmin now uses a standard compact flash card slot

Go with the Garmin
