OK....im not much on mods ....did that 25 yrs ago. But i was thinking about putting

the clear sidemarkers on my car. I was wondering if any of you from the more

mature crowd have done this and if its worth it. Thanks to all who reply

It is really a personal preference. I did this mod because I thought that the clear sidemarkers looked really good on a black car. I would like to put in the clear lenses into my headlights...but I'm too chicken to bake my headlights so that they can be opened up.

I put on the clear side markers from Rick's Accessories. They were trivially easy to install, and look nice. On a silver car, it really cleans up the side view. Since I don't care for doing anything non-reversible, I haven't done the clear corners mod, which would be the natural next step towards a really clean look.

I have a Sebring Silver, but I haven't done either the side markers or the headlights. I think it looks fine as it came.

As Jonas said, changing to clear side markers is a 15 minute job...even for the technically challenged like me I go for simple mods like this, MUZ shift knob, etc.

Based on the advice of a fellow Del Val vintage member, I used Civic side markers....cost less than $10 for the pair; no need for expensive versions from other sources. I used 1992 Civic part number 40.2502.SM (sold in pairs, if I remember correctly).

I did both the side markers and the smoked corners. Wouldn't hesitate to do either again - although the corners were a PITA.

Thanks for your input guys i can see where it would look good on Silver or Black

but since my car is GPW not sure how that would turn out. I got to think about this

one awhile. Oh and ralper we have a 96 4 runner with 180,000 trouble free miles.

I just signed up for this forum a couple of days ago so you guys will be hearing

from me from time to time . Im an Engineer in the oil and gas business and live

in South Mississippi.

Filthy

My 4Runner has turned out to be the most reliable, most trouble free vehicle I have ever owned. I've had 8 Hondas and they were/are great, but if I had to bet my life on any car it would be my 4Runner. Granted, its not as much fun to drive as my S, but I'm sure I'll get to where I'm going and home every night.

Next April I am giving it to my son for his first car. I can't think of a better vehicle for a 17 year old.

Where can you get the smoked sidemarkers? The ones in the for sale area are out of stock. I asked when will you get more and they said they have no supplier. Also there was a group buy of them and I missed out and the member that organized it said his supplier was not reliable (had problems with money and had to get in a pissing match to get them shipped) and he would not be doing it again.

I also love to put in smoked corners. Where can those be purchased? Sounds like a good project while my S is parked in the cold cold winter.

Now that's a good tip.
