Default Need an ER Visit

According to CNN, some guys put sports in front of health:

When is a man's medical emergency not all that urgent? Apparently when sports are on the tube.

A drop in the number of men going to the emergency room during sports broadcasts on TV is followed by a surge afterward, reports an ER doctor who reviewed case numbers over three years at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.

See the rest of the article here: Delayed ER visit?

Now that's a true sports fan!

Anyone ever put off an ER visit thinking......I'll wait it out?

Ouch. Rick broke his leg and put off the ER visit until the next AM.

All of my ER visits have involved a volume of blood loss that would preclude waiting for any event to conclude. I did drive myself part way once with my hand wrapped in a dish towel.

While pitching in a baseball game a line drive was hit back at me hitting me on the forearm of my glove hand. I finished pitching the game, about 3 more innings and after went to the ER. After X-ray it was determined i had a broken bone. For the next couple weeks I had all I could do to even pick up a bar of soap with that arm.

I pulled the muscles in my left calf during warmups for a flag football game. Played the entire game, went back to the office for the rest of the afternoon and drove the S home. The trip took 45 minutes in stop and go.

I then went to my guitar lesson and stopped on the way home to get some ice packs. I went to the doctor the next day and found out I had torn all the muscles in my calf - never occured to me it was that serious...

I forgot to mention that I'm now on crutches for the next 4 - 6 weeks and no driving the S.

No driving the S probably hurts more than the torn muscles.

Get better soon.
