Default Need recommendation for car cover

Because we presently have too many cars for our 2-car garage, I have had to park our beloved S2000 outside in the snowy and icy driveway. I know some of you routinely park your cars outside throughout the year.

Can any of you recommend a car cover for our car? It must be able to withstand snow/ice conditions. On Amazon, the covers range from ~$30 to over a hundred. I have no idea what to look for in a car cover.

Thanks.

Dennis

Hi Dennis,

We have purchased covers for both the S2000 and the P car. We bought covers similar to the NOAH one in that $200.00 price range and have been very happy with it. Rick puts the car away clean (of course) with a good coat of wax, and when he takes off the covers in the spring, the car doesn't even need to be washed.

The custom covers provide a really good fit. Make sure the cover is tight so there is not opportunity for any rubbing.

Thanks for the recommendation! On the web site they also show covers for outdoor air conditioner units. I might look into a cover for that too!

It's interesting,, I've seen car boots if you will that wrap the car entirely but you also have to have an internal cover.

The Weathershield HP is the top of the line breathable cover specifically for outdoor use.

We have also purchased from Cover craft...again the NOAH one comes to mind, but I'm not sure. The first cover lasted almost 10 years.

I'm a big fan of Cal Car Cover (no, I'm not affiliated, just a customer of theirs). I've bought 3-4 in various materials over the years (depending on usage needs). The custom fits have been perfect. They are a little more expensive than the prices you mentioned above though.

Go with a breathable one, much better.

Agreed. The fastest way to ruin your paint is to leave a non breathable car cover on with trapped moisture (or even high humidity) on a sunny day. It doesn't even have to be that warm to do permanent damage.
