I’d love a really non-light polluted environment for these shots. Would have to go a few hours away for that.

It’s right from Alki Beach. A lot of shots of the Seattle skyline are from Alki. Very scenic. Timed it wrong - about 4 hours later the comet would have been over the Space Needle. One of my very dedicated friends stayed from 8:30 until 5:00am . I’m still working so not an option. The first one was about a 10 minute walk from this vantage point - just facing north instead of East towards the city.

I've had clouds every night. I'm not sure what time to look, either. I went to bed at 5 AM last night/this morning. I looked but I think what I saw was a sliver of moon behind the clouds.

We went comet hunting this evening in the Miata. No luck. It may have been overcast on the northwest horizon. Looked that way at sunset. We will try again in a couple days if we get a clear evening. It was a nice top down drive deep into the heart of the Stennis Space Center buffer zone, away from the lights. Saw more stars than we have seen in some time.

The “Night Sky” app does a decent approximation real time. iOS. Unsure if there’s any other versions.

I couldn't sleep so I looked and I guess this is it. No tail but it's super bright. I used my binoculars and still didn't see a tail.

Some planets are shining unusually bright. Could be one of those.
