Default A new car thread

Well , we've you first car, dream car and most other car threads, but I really don't remeber seeing a next car thread.

Who has considered what their next car will be. I am always looking and thinking about what I would like to own going forward.

My wife purchased an 04 TL back in March and it's a great car, so she's set for a while, and I have an 03 CL-S 6sp, that I like a lot, but I don't love, but it is fairly new. And then there is my lovely little S, which turns 5 in just a couple of months and is still yet to break 13K miles (FC04 will take car of that plus some).

My problem is that I really like buying cars (my one real vice).
My wife has been looking at a late 60s GTO, but just can't find a car that she wants at the price she wants to pay.

I have been giving some consideration lately to (say it ain't so) selling the S to get a mid-90s NSX.

The NSX is, and has been, the car that I drool over since it's introduction.

I have no real plans at this time, but it's a consideration.

Anyone looking for a new daily driver, winter beater, or garage toy?

We bought my wife an 03 Accord last year so she is set. I've kicked around selling my S (I have not put 1,000 miles on it since last October) and getting a project car (60's mustang, Thunderbird, Chevelle or 68 - 71 Javelin).

I have a 96 Civic and a 98 CRV and have kicked around selling both and getting a new CRV next year.

hmmm... the wifey's Lexus is getting up there in miles. It still runs well and looks great - but sooner or later we'll have to make a move.

She likes the Infiniti FX 35/45s. I love the G35 Coupe (and now that the '05 6 speeds will have 295hp and an improved interior ) she might go with the coupe.

The other possibility is a used E46 M3. I would love to have one.

Not a good value as a new car though.

Bein' from the south and all, I've been thinking about buying myself one of those great big ole 4wd pickup trucks -- I'm figuring it'll come in handy if we get any snow and I can just put all the groceries, firewood, etc. that I want to in the back of that puppy. I'm thinking if I get a really, really big one I can do what all those suv and gigantic pickup truck driving people do that tick me off -- park right beside a really shiny sportscar so they can't see to pull out of their parking space -- ahhhh, the smell of revenge, how sweet it is.

Stop it Valentine, my sides are hurting.

I figure I'm going to need an F-150 to haul all those hogs and chickens back and forth from my ranch in Texas. Y'all are coming to visit the "Dudess Ranch", aren't you?

I too am always looking forward to and researching my next purchase. For the S2000 my journey began in 1995 when the SSM concept was first shown in Japan.

My cars are bought as the vehicle of choice for the track, after I retire them from track work they graduate to daily drivers and fun toys. I drove my '90 CRX-Si for 10 years at the track, by the end of that time I felt like I was getting just about 100% out of the car. Now that I have the S I suspect it is going to be about the same amount of time if not more before I can say I'm getting 100% out of it on the track, the S2000 has huge potential. Therefore I will not be researching or planning on a new car for such a long time I don't even think about what it will be.

HOWEVER, I LOVE PICKUP TRUCKS! Up here in the frozen tundra of Upstate where lake effect storms can dump 2+ feet of snow overnight my truck is my daily driver for a good portion of the year. Right now I have an aging '95 Nissan 4x4 KingCab. My S will be paid for come the end of this year so in the spring I will be replacing my old Nissan.

Sooooo, my next car (aaahahahehe let the flames begin) will be a new truck. 305 hp., 379 lb.-ft., 5.6 V8, 9,500 lb. towing capacity, awesome 5-speed manual shift automatic, killer good looks, biggest interior in its class. I'll be sucking gas and kickin ass.

As a die-hard Ford boy I have to admit that the new Nissan Titan seems to be an excellent choice. You'll have to let us know how you like it.
