New computer keyboard
I still continue to search for the "perfect" computer keyboard.
I've typed on many and settled on the Microsoft Natural keyboard because it has the split keyboard and is "ergonomic". It is supposed to help those who are worried about carpal tunnel syndrome, or who have arthritis in the hands. However, I don't especially like the feel of the soft dome switches under the keys, and friends who type on my keyboard can't easily adjust to the ergo key positions.
I did buy the Microsoft 4000 keyboard two years ago. It too is ergonomic with extra keys for multimedia and for zooming, but it quickly died in less than 6 months.
Sue types on a clicky keyboard (NMB Right Touch) which is no longer being sold or manufactured. My latest keyboard purchase is the ABS M1 non-ergonomic mechanical switched keyboard. I love it! I find that I can type faster when I hear and feel clicks as I type.
I found a web forum (http://geekhack.org) devoted solely to keyboards and mice. Amazingly, some of the people on this forum have 5 or more keyboards- and they too are all looking for the "ultimate keyboard". Apparently, the "holy grail" of keyboards remains the IBM model M from the 1980's. The model M is no longer being manufactured because most keyboards sold today are just throw-away type items.
