Good information and less intimidating than the old way. Another important life saving technique is recognition of a stroke. The technique is STRT:
S- Ask the person to smile
T- Ask the person to say a simple sentence (it is sunny out today)
R- Ask the person to raise both arms
T- Ask the person to stick out their tongue. If the tongue is crooked or goes to one side or the other or any of the above symptoms are evident that is a sign of a stroke.
A neurologist states that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke. That means getting the stroke recognized, diagnosed and medicaly cared for which is tough. If any of these symptoms are recognized call for medical assistance immediatly.
