Nicely modified MG-B
I always liked the look of the MGB-GT. I owned one while I was in college and it made a really great winter car. Of course, I used to drive MGAs in the winter, so what did I know? Still, the B-GT started in the cold, was relatively water tight and generated sufficient heat to defrost the windshield and take the chill out of the interior. On more than one occasion I jammed a couple of people into the back of the thing and we had a great time in the cozy confines of the little GT.
Like a lot of cars from my youth, I always keep an eye out for a nice used example of a B-GT. I saw this on Craigslist and I keep thinking about it.

I might go look at it. I don't have room for it, but I really like the look the owner achieved even though I usually dislike street mods on British cars.
Do you have a favorite vehicle from your youth that you still think about fondly from time to time? Like me, do you have more than one?

I'm sorry, Bill, but this one does nothing for me. I restored a 1967 B-GT back in the '80's, but kept everything original, even to the BRG paint. I agree with Dean^ that installing that front lip should be grounds for the guy being forced to endure severe pain from "Bubba" in the big house.
Bill, I could be wrong but I think you are seeing the divide between people who love race cars and those who love street cars. I'm with you 100%. I love what's been done with the car. Unless it's been really ridden hard and put away wet, the price seems very good. Keep us posted if you look at it.

Gene, while I disagree with you on almost everything, I still think you are a nice guy. I hope that doesn't mean you dislike yourself.

It's either that, or just a different eye for esthetics. I like the way all the mods came together and complemented each other. Those stub bumperettes and the front and rear valences go well with the lowering and the wheels. Back in the day, there were a lot of aftermarket front lips/valences on the market and most of them were junk. This particular valence flows well with the lines of the car.
I'm just concerned that the lower stance may have a negative impact on the ride. I would not be interested in a car that bottoms out on bumps. The part I like the least is the seats, but maybe they are comfortable. I'll be in that area this weekend, so maybe I'll take a look.

If you do buy it, there is a guy nearby me who works exclusively on MGB's, so if you need anything, I can hook you up with him.

You are just sensitive to "lower end modifications" at the moment.
