Also none in North Korea. Normally I would guess that they are just covering up bad news as usual. But North Korea is so isolated and travel in or out is so restricted, maybe it's true.

I would have a tendency to think they are fudging the numbers, just a little bit. Now Russia on the other hand has done an amazing and exemplary job with this. 268 cases in the entire country as of this AM. They started testing EVERYONE the end of Jan., and they have stopped it dead, at least as of now. My understanding is that they locked down every individual that tested positive as soon as the results were in.

Thats because they have a leader who saw it coming and prepared way in advance for it. We cant even get swabs distributed to states.

I think they are having to fudge the numbers because they can't test many people that may have the virus.

Much of that is because we have let our so much of our manufacturing base leave the country. I remember being told decades ago that America will turn to a service country as our manufacturing job will be going over seas.

You got it.

I used to marvel at all of the pharmaceutical companies "making" drugs in Michigan when I used to organize an annual Honda track day at Gingerman Raceway. Lots of well paying jobs as a result of that manufacturing in the region, years later the facilities were all gone. Very sad state of affairs.

The thing about Russia is that they are recording deaths based on medical conditions other than Corona virus. No one dies from Corona virus they die from conditions affected by the virus. If Corona virus causes a person to die of thrombosis, they list the death as thrombosis, not Covid19. Don't believe anything coming out of Russia, their citizens on social media are reporting much higher numbers than what is being confirmed by the government. I agree Putin may have taken a firmer and quicker response to the pandemic, but I don't believe the numbers being reported by their government.

He doesn't rely on China to make anything he needs, lucky/smart guy.

He might get Covid19 when he takes his maple syrup into town to sell to the urbanites, or when hundreds of students visit his sugarbush.

I'm with zero on this. Or at least highly skeptical of the numbers being reported out of Russia. Not saying it isn't possible that Russia's quick action prevented more widespread infection, only that it's hard to take statements from Putin's government at face value.
