For anyone who has ever been to Paris, what a very sad, sad day to see it in flames.

The most visited location in all of France. Really a sad day. Reportedly the fire was an accident.

Yes, we were just there last summer. And I lived there for three years when I was younger, so have an attachment to the city. It is shocking to see. Very, very sad.

I didn't know that. That is a very sad day. My granddaughter is going there soon. When did it happen and what is the extent of the damage.

Just a few hours ago...it appears now that the cathedral interior is pretty much destroyed. A few smaller walls are still standing and the large towers in front are still standing but the left one is burning. The roof is gone, the spire in the back is gone - not sure about the flying buttresses. It is catastrophic.

It took generations to build it. Destroyed in a day.

And the sad irony is that the fire may have been started by the people who were restoring it.
