Default Now I know

My older brother (63) has driven Buicks for years. He put 140K on his last one and replaced it with a Lucerne about three years ago.

He drove me to an appointment about 45 minutes away today. I have to say the seats were quite comfortable,I had no trouble getting in or out with my bulky sling. The ride was smooth and not too "floaty" and when he purchased it, he was happy with the way he was able to choose some of the accessories/interior at the time.

I'm still not ready to trade in the Jeep though.

I know the older I get, the more luxury I want. I was outside at a picnic this past weekend and thought I'd die since I'm never in the heat during the day. And the S is starting to kill me on bumpy roads too. I tell ya, if it still didn't put a big grin on my face......

Lainey, if you didn't have a sling on, would you even consider it? I find the seats in the S the best ever, and the NSX is pretty fine too. My RAV4 has seats that feel like bricks.

Probably not. My Jeep seats are quite comfortable, but it is higher off the ground which can make it difficult for some to get in and out of. The S seats are comfortable. but not roomy. if one needs room. It is a bumpy ride, not a vehicle I'd want to be in every day, especially if I had major health issues/aches.

I'm no where near ready to buy a Buick or any vehicle like that, but I can see why some folks swear by them and the comfort. Kind of like driving around on your living room couch. I think I've heard that around here.

^^^ I love those mid-50 Buicks.

It's a '55....those 'dagmars' got flattened off in '56 Otherwise, I think that the design was pretty similar....

Kathy's maternal grandparents always had Buicks, and their kids mostly followed the GM trend. I may have some car show pics of neat Buicks...will search around for to see what I have.

One very similar to the pic crossed the auction block at Spring Carlisle in April...a beautiful specimen. While my family never had an upscale Buick, I really like the '55/ '56/ '57 models. Some of them were very powerful for that era...
