Default Numbered days, pre postlude

Well, after 9 months of unemployment I got a nibble and had an interview Monday. Yesterday I accepted an offer and I'm very grateful in these tough times to have work. However, the new job is 50 miles away in CT, about an hour's drive ea way against traffic for the most part.
It saddens me that I'm not in a position to get a second car and must relinquish the S for a more practical 4 season car. The lead candidate is a Mini Cooper hardtop S, though I suppose I should do my research and consider fun but practical alternatives (suggestions?).
My years here at Vintage have been mostly silent, but I follow the goings on nearly daily and feel a part of this community. I've met many of you dear folks at the two meets I've been able to go to, and I'll likely linger here for a while.

Civic SI with extra set of tires for winter. Mini's can be expensive to maintain.

Congrats on the job. Sorry about the commute. That makes for a long day.

Thanks all for good wishes, will continue to be here for at least a while. I'll likely keep the S until May/ June.

Just because you sell the S you might not check in anymore? What's a car have to do with it? This is Vintage, not S2000 Talk.

True, vintage has always been about the people. After all these years, how can I give up the banter? The distinct personalities, the chuckles and predictabilities...now I'm getting nostalgic...
