Default OBD2?

My car is a MY2000. I was looking at OBD2 scanners and noticed that one listed Hondas 2003 or newer. not sure why. Is the MY2000 not OBD2 compatible?

Any recommendations?

I recall the only difference is the MY00 OBD2 port is on the "Japanese driver's" side.

thanks, I did read that on another thread. But thought it was odd that the Blue Driver scanner specifically called out 2003 or newer.

I've seen stand-alone scanners for as little as $20 and full featured scanners for the same $100 as this thingie. I don't see any advantage in a phone App for this use.

I believed it was mandatory for all cars in the US to have OBD2 in the mid-'90s.
