Hockey started today.

Team USA beat Switzerland without much trouble. It was great watching the game without a single commercial during the entire non-stop play. Ads were only run during the period breaks during this afternoon game.

Canada started off which a kick-butt performance over Norway. 8 goals! Jerome had a hat trick. Their coach, Babcock, must have thought, if for just a second, this is the way the Red Wings used to dominate a game. Ads were stuffed in, very short ones, during this 'prime time' game.

I watched the men's downhill, taped from yesterday. I can't get use to the blue highway painted in the snow. And, the USA uniform looks like something a drunk would design.

 

The US women got by Russia and you could definitely say they did so "without much trouble". Well, they did have trouble avoiding additional scoring in the third period...One of the two shots on goal they took that period almost found the net!

 

I get so pissed off at tv coverage. Here I am with a zillion channels. Everything I check says Russia vs Latvia is on CNBC today at 12:30....... but can I get; hell, no. It's the Financial markets on both CNBC and CNBC HD. Same with the 3:30 game that suppose to be on MSNBC between Finland and Belarus. But I can get "women's curling" on USA network. End of rant!!

 

I saw an ad on tv last night...one of the NBC web sites supposedly was going to stream EVERY olympic hockey game.

At least they showed the last 2 periods of Sweden vs Germany hockey on CNBC tonight. So far there has been no upsets. Winners in round one are USA, Canada, Russia, Finland, and Sweden.

Women's downhill tonight was good. That's one tough lady!!
