Yes, one of the headlines said she shut up Simon Cowell, which is quite a feat. I could not get over the looks on those judges' faces when she opened her mouth. What a glorious voice. Now her little town in Scotland is being overrun with press. I hope it isn't too much for her.

I've never watched American Idol at all, I've only seen bits of pieces on the news clips, but I know of Simon Cowell and how he rips some folks apart.
I too appreciated the looks on the judges faces when the woman began to sing. I think the judges had probably written her off as another crazy contestant, based on her outward appearance. She shocked the heck out of them.

Beleive it or not Simon Cowell is the most revered judge and part of American Idol every poll that pops up normally puts him at the top. He does not sugar coat things as the others will. Sure he may be harsh and not so personable but in the end he gets it right.
