Default The Oscars

The Oscar nominations hav been announced, and Scorsese's "Aviator" is the favorite, getting 11 nominations (comparable to LOTR3 last year). Am I the only one who is somewhat underwhelmed by that movie? Aside from the open ending and the confusing introduction (or lack thereof) of the characters, the story just did not feel like it was "flowing".

And as much as I like Alan Alda, I do not think that his performance warrants a nomination as Best Supporting Actor. Nevermind Cate Blanchett as Katharine Hepburn.

Personally, I'd think Clint Eastwood's "Million Dollar Baby" and perhaps Jamie Foxx's "Ray" would be more deserving.

I've still to see Sideways, but thought Finding Neverland, $$$ Baby and Ray were all superior films with more complete stories over The Aviator.

We have yet to see the Aviator. It was sold out when we went to see it so we saw Ocean's 12. That was boring to me. We did like Finding Neverland a lot though. Haven't seen any of the other nominations.
