Default In or out at lunch?

Do you leave your office, or at least your desk at lunch?

Generally, I leave my office at lunch. We don't have a lunch room and I like to get a break and leave for a while. Rick barely takes time to eat and stays in for 9+ hrs. I don't know how he does that. I'm working a shorter day, but can't go out to lunch as no one is around to "drive Miss Lainey". The day seems to last forever when I stay in.

What do you do? Anyone still do the three martini lunch?

Tomorrow I'm staying later I'll need to get out at lunch. I'm walking next door to a bar/ tavern at lunch.

I almost never leave my desk for lunch. I go back to the kitchen area, nuke whatever I've got, and eat at the keyboard, sometimes running some test, sometimes just browsing S2KI. (Granted, my keyboard occasionally regrets it...)

Regardless, I rarely take more than 15 minutes. I'd rather get my work done faster and get home sooner.

Can you make your own hours? No lunch=leave early? Not an option for Rick, though I'm kind of temporarily making my own schedule.

I go out about once a week. The rest of the week I stay at my desk, put my feet up and catch some zzzzz!

About once a week, like today, I'll pick up Quiznos, Subway or McD's and eat at my desk. The other 3 days I go out. (don't work Mondays after tax season) Being self-employed, I still can leave early.

I always bring a lunch - I'm not rich enough to go out all the time.

I pretty much set my own hours. I generally arrive between 9 and 10am (occasionally later if I have errands to run), leave at 5-6, sometimes a tick earlier and then work an hour or two at home after Anika goes to bed.

As long as the work gets done, I can work pretty much whenever convenient.

I really like that about my job, and my boss.

Hospital food for lunch daily, nearly always at my desk, unfortunately.

But at least the food is usually ok...Morrisons provides our food service. Not very healthy for a hospital, though. I have a particular fondness for their chicken fried steak.

Usually at my desk. Go out maybe once a week. I do eat an institution meal once a month (required so can see what inmates are eating in case of complaints).

I work in the warehouse at the Correctional Training Facility (Soledad State Prison) and get to see all of the food (??) that arrives for the inmates to eat. That alone is enough to keep one on the straight and narrow.
