Default Out with the Old, In with the New

Whether 2013 is going out with a bang or a whimper, here comes 2014! I've had a pretty good year - retired then found a part time job from home to keep my mind active. Friends and family for the most part doing well. Took some nice trips with my sweet . Did some fun things. A few bumps, but nothing that I couldn't deal with. I'm planning on a good 2014!

Let's make 2014 a good year for Vintage, too. It's getting a little long in the tooth, just like some of us, but I'd like to see it remain the great venue for sharing and caring that it has been for so many years.

Please feel free to continue the sharing. I really enjoy reading about what everyone has been up to and plans for the future, as well as the various and interesting topics that are a hallmark of this forum. I (and many others) will continue the caring.

Excellent thoughts, MsP! I feel the same way.

As for myself, I'll be delighted to see 2013 disappear from the rear view mirror.
I lost both in-laws in the space of 10 weeks as well as had several rather annoying health issues that had to be dealt with.
but those are behind me now, Yes, I am truly looking forward to 2014

I've gotten some indirect comments that some of the recent threads have been downers. But the point is that peeps feel they can share the bad as well as the good because of the support they get from our Vintage family in postings and PMs. I want to know how the members are doing, good and bad.

I may be responsible for some of the downer type threads. I look at this forum as a place to discuss the good, bad and sometimes ugly. The same rule applies, to the downer threads as it does all others. If you don't like the thread topic, don't read it, and PLEASE, PLEASE feel free to start new threads, especially upbeat ones. You may cheer up someone who is dealing with a speed bump on the road of life.

I'm hoping for a good 2014. Trying to be optimistic, but the Mom situation continues to decline. Still have other issues within the family which causes some concern, but will try to put a smile on my face, and keep on movin' on.

Hope to see you folks in Hershey!

I try not to post all the poopy stuff that we deal with, but believe me when I say that this forum provides a happy little place for me to come and I really need that. None of us have lives that are filled with moonlight, roses and sweet little pink puppy and kitty noses all the time. I'm interested in knowing how everyone is doing - good and bad. I've been to many of your homes, some of you have been to mine and folks, we've been friends for many years. Sometimes its good to know I'm not alone when I have struggles. It lightens my own load knowing others are dealing with things too. you guys!

You're a lightweight when it comes to being a downer. I've got you beat by a long shot. And I hope I maintain my lead over most of you.

I'm very much looking forward to 2014, moving into our new house, getting used to retirement, and being able to spend the summer in ME & CT, instead of a measly week.
I expect 2014 to be a good year, thanks in no small part to some of the advice, encouragement, and commiseration I've received from various folks on this forum.
