Movies that should or should not be remade. Some are so character intensive to the actor the rewrite doesn't work. Some are simply miscast, who would you like to see play what? Some are ignored and need to be updated and redone. This is a nice safe topic or is it?

Obviously Casablanca is on my list but who should play what?

Actually, Rick never says that line. The correct quote is: "Play it, Sam. Play 'As Time Goes By'."

And I think this is one movie that should never be remade. The cast of characters, the setting, the screenplay could never be duplicated, IMO.

All Bogart fans know he didn't say it, but the movie is iconized with that phrase. I wonder if iconize is a word?

The African Queen from the movie is docked in Key Largo. It was shot in the keys. It A lot of the movie Key Largo was shot at Sid and Roxy's in Islamorada. The Santana from Key Largo is lost to time. Some of the stories about the cast of Key Largo are legendary in the keys.

I think they should remake Key Largo. I have no clue who I'd cast. Those are all big shoes to step into.

It's a word. And even if it wasn't, no biggie. Language is forever changing and morphing. And it's not like you are writing a technical manual where clarity and precision is a tad more important.
