Default Posting for pay

Recently I received an invitation to join a paid discussion forum. At first I was dubious, but then thought, wth. I went through the steps, read the rules and went ahead and signed up. Much to my surprise just for logging on I received a $10 Amazon certificate. Then I decided, Ohhhh, I should read more. Apparently I'll get $15/month in Amazon Certificates for taking a few surveys, thoughtfully posting/participating. I enjoy the forum and I sign on every couple/days and comment when I think it is appropriate or when I have something to add. Any of you ever done this?

PS: The surveys only take a couple/minutes and the forum participation only takes about 10-15 minutes a week.

Never head of this. Keep us posted. Maybe it's a new way to get rich in retirement!

I did that for awhile on an FPL board. Initially you got a gift certificate for every post. Once they grew it, it turned into the first XXXX number of responders got the gift certificate. I quit doing it after that but I did get several small amount gift cards.

I've never done that, Valentine. Sounds good.

That's what I expected to happen. This forum supposedly is for some sort of research firm. It is interesting and I do like the discussion. we'll see how it goes. I don't expect this to be a source of income but will use the amazon coupons.

I guess that this is the high tech version of the old "Focus Group" method of market research.

When I saw the thread title, I thought it was going to be about the new FB tactic of getting you to PAY to promote your topic/advertorial or whatever. There was just an NPR piece on the radio an hour ago...interviewing a media guy. The cost is $7 per POST for a private party, but can be as much as $7500 for a large corporation to "push" there stuff in front of more eyeballs.

Well, much to my surprise, I got an email this morning saying I'd earned another $15 gift certificate. Woohoo. If I had about 20 of these forums I'd be in high cotton. I rather enjoy the forum, so its like getting paid to enjoy myself. I like that, but expect it'll fizzle shortly.
