Prescription sun glasses
#11
I have Costco polarized, distance only sunglasses, Costco progressive focus, transition tint Costco glasses, and a pair of Oakley sunglasses with two interchangeable Rx lenses for riding my ElliptiGO. The Oakley factory is within a mile of my house and yes, they made the two pairs of Rx lenses: one brown polarized and the other transition lenses.

Yes. It was my eye doctor who should have recognized the track issue with progressives since he was the one that suggested the wrap arounds in the first place. Thankfully I went to a different optical store several years later and they recommended I have Oakley redo the lens, of course at my cost. Now I wear them everyday instead of having them sit in the drawer. If money is a consideration, Oakley's are not cheap.

I just went to the local Oakley store. Kind of a hassle. You buy the frames from them, then go to Lens Crafters for the lenses. LC sends away for them from Oakley and it takes two weeks to get them. I dunno...
Oakley has a new lens coating for water sports, but it is not yet available for prescriptions.

I have progressives but only wear them in the home or office. They are Costco but are NOT good. The focal point is so small the slightest head movement makers the page blurry, so I won't be using Costco again.
I have regular glasses for all day use, driving, etc and I wonder if I can get them made into sunglasses? I don't know how it's done, but are the re labs that can coat them?
