I'll send matrix a PM and let him know I'm bringing up my own coffee pot.

Toooo funny! Our poor lil' Matrix.
(he'll get a kick out of this one)

PS: Which reminds me.... Val, when you and the hunk come to visit me, please make sure your coffeemaker fits in the S along with all that luggage.

I knew you ladies would have some fun with this. The poor guy just does not know his way around the kitchen very well at all.I figured now would be a great time to have our way with him, as he is on vacation with his lovely wife; you know, when the cats away, the mice will play...
The added challenge here is the set up he has is labor intensive and only makes like 2 cups. So in a couple of weeks when I'm back up there to watch the 1st race of the season we may have 2 other guys coming over at 5:45AM to watch the race, and you just know they are going to want coffee at that hour. So I can see it now, I'll be running up and down the stairs all morning making 2 cups of cold coffee at a time.

At home we have a Capresso superautomatic, so little else compares.
Me thinks your home is a place I would like to spend a night or two.

What have I started...
My wife and I are not coffee drinkers, so last time my aunt came to visit I had to make a run to Wawa to get coffee for her.
I'd be perfectly happy if people brought their own coffee machine with them.
I usually end up bringing Diet Coke when we visit friends' houses, as it's my drink of choice, and not everyone keeps it around the house.

So Jonas, will your machine fit in the S along with my helmet? We might want to try it out at the next couple of meets. Talk about your coffee drinker's heaven. And please don't get Val started on the different types of beans she'll be bringing.

I don't know about protocol from the exact perspective you asked, but my approach is to take one of the one-cup drip cones (that sit on top of a mug), some filters, and some ground coffee whenever I go places I know don't have what I like. No one seems to object, and cleanup is trivial. HPH

Trip, you'd think folks were coming for the duration if you saw them unpacking when coming to visit me so I thought it was cute that you were concerned. Then when I saw who it was you were talking about, I knew there would be no problem since he rants and raves about his best bud all the time. Y'all are funny.

Having stayed at Jonas' place, I can attest to the wonderful brew his machine creates (along with their wonderful hospitality!!!).
