Default Race?

I own my car for my personal enjoyment. I didn't buy it to race with every car and motorcycle squid out there. Yet I keep getting these looks...hand signals...engine revs...you know what I'm talking about. The weird thing is...the people doing this are the cars and bikes the S can smoke.

Civics want to size up with the S... Mustangs...most of them have torque but nothing else. The S can outrun the GXSR600 and GSXR750 with a skilled driver. My husband raced these bikes...you have no idea how much this says for the S unless you're a motrocycle person. My husband has had some fun with my car.

Everythng squares up against me. I don't know why, I'm totally stock looking .

Must be the bypass noise, the sc whine or the big blue flames I can shoot out of my exhaust.

A few weeks ago, I had a dude in an M3 pull up al9ong side me nad keep pace for a half mile or so on the highway. I was in cruise at 71, looked over to see who was next to me. He jumped on it and I just kept on rolling in cruise.

I usually invite them out to our next autocross. I doubt that many show up, but they have been offered a challange where they can drive like a maniac for 4 minutes and not go to jail.

That's assuming that the motorcycle rider has zero talent. The S has a 0-60 time near 6 seconds. The GSXR600 is 4 seconds and the 750 is 3.

Now, if you are talking twisty roads, the 4 contact patches and the extra sheet metal of the S will boost confidence over pushing a motorcycle hard giving the edge to a skilled driver in the S.

I find it odd that in 20k miles nobody has challenged me in the S yet.

Maybe it is because I finished 5th out of 98 at last week's autocross. The word must be out on the street!

Only time I "think" someone was trying to race me was right by Lambeau Field. It was a stock econ box. I took off like I normally do, which is quick but not V-TECH in the right lane. As I shift from 4 to 5 going 45 in a 35, I notice there is this econobox engine gunned going past me, of course he thinks he got "the kill" because I was already in 5th before I even realized he was trying to race me.

Let's face it, being Vintage doesn't mean we don't know how to have fun or drive, We're just more mature about it.

It almost never happens to me. One of those Viper powered trucks drag raced me about a month ago. I wasn't even aware we were racing until the light turned green and he jumped on it.

Civics with half a body kit, usually painted primer gray, with a big wing, but still on stock (read skinny) wheels and tires.

I think it must be the loud single on the car.
