It's not long ago active aero was banned from F1, they then brought in DRS to make it more 'exciting' and now DRS is gone but the cars all have active aero. Seems unnecessarily stupid and complex to me with no benefit.

This season is gonna be a mess.

Daytona 500 today at 1:30. Odds makers are probably taking bets on how many will crash on the first lap.

I didn't watch any of it but I see there was a crash - bang ending. Surprise, surprise.

The news coming out of Bahrain doesn't look so happy.
What Newey pulled out of his hat clearly wasn't a rabbit.

Combination of new honda engine, bad cooling and so forth, 4-6 seconds off of the pace.
engines had to have a redline of only 11,000 rpm so it wouldn't blow up. ( first one did in a few laps)
Alonzo is thinking deja vu from his Mclaren Honda days.

It will be interesting to see how the compression ratio story pans out.
Mercedes has apparently engineered a connecting rod that grows under thermal stress.
The net result is a higher hot compression ratio than the static cold tests.
This may come back to bite Mercedes in the butt.
The durability of the material hasn't been seen in a multi-race scenario.

Tracks with legendary history top all IMHO. As for the video I loved seeing all the great drivers from the past because I followed the sport and had the luck to see I suspect every one of those featured racing live. I have no interest in tracks in the deserts, USA or Arab.

That is the reason why I am SO looking forward to going to Monaco in June, As for me, it is a ":bucket list" item.
