Default Rain-X. Do you use it?

A few years ago I used Rain-x on my daily driver. In heavy rain and at speed I loved it. It made the rain run off the windshield. But in light rain it made the windshield wipers bounce, which I didn't like at all.

My son Adam just put it on his car and loves it. I'm tempted to try it again but I'd like your opinion.

Do you use Rain-X? Do you like it? Do you get the same windshield wiper bounce? If so what do you do about it.

I've used it for about 30 years.

Many years ago, I treated 1/2 of several windows of a car that was parked outside overnight, leaving the other halves untreated. Then I scraped the frost off the windows one morning. The difference was noticeable.

I've used it since that time.

I use it on all my cars. Never had any skipping issue. I also very rarely ever use my wipers because of RainX.

Yes, Rob, I use it. Not very often since our rainfall in the last year was most likely less than you sometimes get in one day. When I'm going on a trip when I think I'll run into rain, I always do the windows on the car I'm driving before I leave.

I use it on the toy and my DD. As Martha Stewart used to say " it's a good thing."
I put it on my wifes S430 and she hated it. the wipers chattered something awful.
go figure...

the other downside pointed out be a friend some years ago, is it is habit forming.
As it wears off, you must A) re-apply so it doesn't get this weird streaky thing or B) wash it off entirely with ammonia.

I used it on the S, but since I do so little real driving anymore, I've never used it on my car. It performed well on the S and I had no skipping problems and only had to turn the wipers on if it was a deluge.

I like Rain-X Washer Liquid for wiping the glass all around, but I have also been using the 2 in 1 Rain-X windshield wiper fluid instead of usual the blue liquid in the fluid dispenser. That helps to keep the water beading up on the windshield longer. I don't get a bounce, Rob; the wipers coast smoothly across, but sometimes they squeek a bit when they are squeegee-ying the water off.

Rain-X also have a good de-icer fluid.

I've used Rain-X for years and now I use the Invisible Glass with Repellent between applications for Rain-X.

I have not tried the washer fluid, but I think I'll pick up some on my next trip to Auto Zone...

use it on the S as well as Invisible Glass which may remove it as it cuts through grease etc
